Pro Expansive game universe where you get to explore many different star systems
Galaxy on Fire 2 HD has a huge expansive game universe. With over 30 different systems of stars, planets and space station, you will explore and adventure all over the galaxy.
Pro Nice graphics and music
The graphics and music are very well done. The music is slightly dynamic in that there are different scores that play depending on what's going on in the game. The graphics for this were good even before the update and are even better since it was updated. Many have said they are nearly 'console quality' and they are right. The graphics are actually better than a lot of console games out there and even better than a few PC ones.
Pro Engaging storyline
A really well done storyline with great depth and various conversation options, even though it is a bit linear.
Pro Closest thing you'll get to a space engineer style PVP game
This game could put stuff on PC to shame.
Pro Free to play, no ads, no micro transactions
You can buy expansion packs giving two additional storylines (also including new ships, weapons, systems...), definitely worth the money.
Pro Updated HD Graphics over first title allows the game to shine on modern HD devices
All of the graphical textures and effects have been updated and reworked from the original game Galaxy on Fire. Including highly detailed 3D models and stunning specialFX, Galaxy on Fire 2 HD graphics are optimized for Android devices and provide beautiful visuals.
High-quality visuals including detailed 3D models, hi-res textures and breath-taking Special FX
Pro Many different types of missions
Pro Great combat system and challenging game
Pro Compelling events make the story interesting
The power struggle between gangs has resulted in the death of your father. You have flown from Hong Kong to avenge your father's death. The missions vary, and all could be plausible making it easy to get lost in the story.
Pro Local multiplayer is more fun than you'd think
The local multiplayer takes advantage of this open-world game in the best ways possible. You can challenge another player to different activities - including Death Races (last alive or first to the finish wins), Stash Dash (get to a delivery van first and make deliveries while the other player tries to stop you), Liberty City Survivor (1v1 battle against your opponent with many police around), and Defend the Base (co-operatively protect targets from incoming bad guys).
Pro Decent graphics
The graphics and lighting effects have been improved over the original version (on the Nintendo DS) to a point where they're good enough for modern mobile gaming.
Pro Controller support for improved controls
GTA: Chinatown Wars has built in controller support which means it is compatible with the Google Nexus Player as well as the Amazon Fire TV. This means you can play it on your phone/tablet with a Bluetooth controller, or on an Android console on the big-screen TV with a Bluetooth controller for an even more console-like feeling.
Note: not all Bluetooth controllers are supported
Cons
Con Includes in-app purchases
Galaxy on Fire 2 HD has included in-app purchases that range from $0.99 - $51.82 per item. However, for the base game, which is free, you don't actually have to make any purchases at all. Same for any of the expansions you choose to purchase, which aren't that expensive at all. They add entirely new stories to the game and all of them are under $7 each. There is a combo of Valkyrie & Supernova which is about $9 but it's two expansions not just 1. Any other in-game purchases are completely optional. You don't need them to enjoy the game.
Con Campaign could be longer and bit more interesting
Con You can't enter into the planets
You can't enter into the planets.
Con No multiplayer
Just the campaign.
Con Game takes up a lot of storage space
This Game takes up almost 1GB of space.
Con Controls on touchscreen are not that good
Driving can be pretty difficult with the touch screen controls, though there are two different settings, so one may work better than the other.
Con Not an original game
While not a con for everybody, this game has virtually nothing new about it. It was originally launched for the PSP (PlayStation Personal) and Nintendo DS (dual screen - new generation of GameBoy). The tutorial is borrowed from the PSP version, while it retains the mini games from the DS version.
