Adata SU750 Series SSDs vs Intel Optane Series 900P (2017)

Analysis:

The Adata SU750 256GB is a great Internal SSD for its $37 asking price.

The Intel Optane SSD 900P U.2 280GB, however, while a reasonable product for $425, doesn't stack up against its competitors quite as well. If you're considering Internal SSDs in the $440 range, you might want to check out some better options.

The Adata SU750 256GB was loved by reviewers at PCmag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best Internal SSDs for 2020" roundup where it was named its "Best for Dollar-for-Performance Value Seekers", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

As for the Intel Optane SSD 900P U.2 280GB - it impressed reviewers at Tom's Hardware, a trustworthy source that conducts solid hands-on testing. It did great in its "Best SSDs 2020: From Budget SATA to Blazing-Fast NVMe" roundup - in fact, it earned its "Best Low-Capacity Add-in-Card SSD" title, which, on its own, indicates a certain level of quality.

We examined all of the review data that we could find and first took a look at sources that reviewed both of them, like PCmag, and found that they haven't shown a preference for either product.

Then we checked which sources liked these two Internal SSDs best and found that the Adata SU750 256GB got its highest, 8, review score from reviewers at PCmag, whereas the Intel Optane SSD 900P U.2 280GB earned its best score of 9.2 from PC Gamer.

Finally, we calculated their average review scores from all of the data we could find and compared those to Internal SSDs in general. It turns out that the Intel Optane SSD 900P U.2 280GB, with its 8.7 average, got reviewed considerably better than most of its competition - the overall average for Internal SSDs being 7.8 out of 10 points - whereas the Adata SU750 256GB performed worse than most, with an average review score of 6.7.

However, it's worth pointing out that a direct Adata SU750 256GB vs. Intel Optane SSD 900P U.2 280GB comparison might not be entirely fair, because some sources have a tendency of not taking value for money into account when reviewing products.
