Samsung 970 EVO Plus Series SSDs vs Adata SX6000 Pro Series SSDs

Analysis:

The Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB is one of the very best Internal SSDs that one can get for around $110. The Adata SX6000 Pro 1TB, however, while a very good choice at its $150 price point, falls just short of being remarkable.

The Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB was loved by reviewers at PCmag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best PCI Express NVMe Solid State Drives (SSDs) for 2020" roundup where it was named its "Best for Performance-Minded Upgraders", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Returning to the Adata SX6000 Pro 1TB, PCmag, a source that's known for its high-quality in-depth testing, has great things to say about it. In fact, it was named its "Best for M.2 Value Seekers" in its "The Best PCI Express NVMe Solid State Drives (SSDs) for 2020" roundup, which is quite a feat.

To get a better idea of how they fare when compared directly to each other, we analyzed review scores of sources that tested both. PCGamesN, Tom's Hardware, and PCmag, for example, preferred the Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB, while Expert Reviews rated both of them the same.

We also took a look at which sources had the best things to say about them. We learned that the Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB got reviewed the highest by Techradar - it gave it a rating of 10, while the Adata SX6000 Pro 1TB most impressed reviewers at Expert Reviews, which gave it a score of 8.

Lastly, in order to better compare them to their competition, we averaged out their review scores and found that the Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB got received considerably better than the majority of other Internal SSDs - it earned an average of 8.7 out of 10 points, compared to the 7.8 overall rating of other Internal SSDs - while the Adata SX6000 Pro 1TB performed worse than most of its competitors, with its average review score of 6.5.

It's worth keeping in mind, however, that a direct Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB vs. Adata SX6000 Pro 1TB comparison might not be realistic since they're priced differently and some sources have a tendency to review more expensive products better than cheaper ones.
