Adata XPG SX8200 Pro Series SSDs vs Sony G-Series SSDs 2017

Analysis:

The Adata XPG SSD SX8200 Pro 1TB was loved by reviewers at PCmag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best Internal SSDs for 2020" roundup where it was named its "Best for M.2 Dollar-for-Performance Value Seekers", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Taking a look at the Sony SSD G-Series 480GB, it got featured in roundups from two reliable sources that conduct their own testing - PCWorld and Tom's Hardware - but it fell short of earning a top spot in either.

When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both Internal SSDs, including PCWorld, preferred the Adata XPG SSD SX8200 Pro 1TB over the Sony SSD G-Series 480GB.

We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The Adata XPG SSD SX8200 Pro 1TB was liked best by Expert Reviews, which gave it a score of 10, while the Sony SSD G-Series 480GB got its highest, 8, score from PCWorld.

Lastly, we averaged out all of their review ratings and observed that the Adata XPG SSD SX8200 Pro 1TB, with its 9.2 average, performed considerably better than most Internal SSDs - the mean score for the product category being 7.8 out of 10 - while the Sony SSD G-Series 480GB managed an average of 7.3.

There's one caveat here - it might not be entirely justifiable to do a direct Adata XPG SSD SX8200 Pro 1TB vs. Sony SSD G-Series 480GB review average comparison since they aren't priced the same and more expensive products tend to get higher review scores from some sources.
