Addlink S70 Series 256GB vs Samsung 970 Pro Series SSDs

Analysis:

The Addlink S70 Series 512GB and Samsung SSD 970 Pro 512GB make for very strong choices and are great Internal SSDs for their respective $74 and $169 asking prices. Depending on how much you're willing to spend, either of these options will serve you well.

Two highly trusted sources that perform well-thought-out in-depth testing consider the Addlink S70 Series 512GB to be a great product - it earned the "Runner Up" title from Wirecutter (NYTimes) and "Best for Extreme Budget Upgraders on M.2" from PCmag in their respective Internal SSD roundups, which is a good indication of it being a notable product.

Moving on to the Samsung SSD 970 Pro 512GB: it did great in a number of roundups that were conducted by sources that perform their own hands-on testing, such as Windows Central, Android Central, and TrustedReviews - it was dubbed "Runner Up" by Windows Central, "Best NVMe SSD" by Android Central, and "Ranked 2 out of 9" by TrustedReviews, which indicates that it's worthy of consideration.

We examined all of the review data that we could find and first took a look at sources that reviewed both of them, like PCWorld and PCmag, and found that they haven't shown a preference for either product.

Then we checked which sources liked these two Internal SSDs best and found that the Addlink S70 Series 512GB got its highest, 9, review score from reviewers at PCWorld, whereas the Samsung SSD 970 Pro 512GB earned its best score of 9 from TrustedReviews.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Internal SSDs on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Internal SSDs being 7.8 out of 10, whereas the Addlink S70 Series 512GB and Samsung SSD 970 Pro 512GB managed averages of 8.3 and 8.7 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Addlink S70 Series 512GB vs. Samsung SSD 970 Pro 512GB comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
