AKG N60NC (2015) vs Skullcandy Riff Wireless

Analysis:

The AKG N60NC (2015) is a great On-Ear Headphone for its $109 asking price.

The Skullcandy Riff Wireless, however, is merely passable at its $39 price point. If you're considering buying a On-Ear Headphone in the $30 range, you might want to check out some of its competitors.

The AKG N60NC (2015) was loved by reviewers at SoundGuys, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "Best noise cancelling headphones" roundup where it was named its "Best On-ears", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Returning to the Skullcandy Riff Wireless, PCmag, a source that's known for its high-quality in-depth testing, has great things to say about it. In fact, it was named its "Best for Bass Fans on a Budget" in its "The Best Cheap Earbuds and Headphones (Under $50)" roundup, which is quite a feat.

When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both On-Ear Headphones, including PCmag, preferred the AKG N60NC (2015) over the Skullcandy Riff Wireless.

We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The AKG N60NC (2015) was liked best by What Hi-Fi?, which gave it a score of 10, while the Skullcandy Riff Wireless got its highest, 8, score from Android Central.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other On-Ear Headphones on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by On-Ear Headphones being 7.4 out of 10, whereas the AKG N60NC (2015) and Skullcandy Riff Wireless managed averages of 8.9 and 7.5 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct AKG N60NC (2015) vs. Skullcandy Riff Wireless comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
