Amazfit Band 5 vs Polar M430
The Amazfit Band 5 is a great Fitness Tracker for its $29 asking price.
The Polar M430, however, while a reasonable product for $229, doesn't stack up against its competitors quite as well. If you're considering Fitness Trackers in the $320 range, you might want to check out some better options.
The Amazfit Band 5 was loved by reviewers at Tom's Guide, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "Best fitness trackers in 2023: Top activity bands from Fitbit, Garmin and more" roundup where it was named its "Runner Up for The runner-up best cheap fitness tracker", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.
Moving on to the Polar M430: it did great in a number of roundups that were conducted by sources that perform their own hands-on testing, such as reviewgeek.com, Gear Patrol, and 220triathlon.com - it was dubbed "Best For Personalized Running Plans" by reviewgeek.com, "Ranked 1 out of 7" by Gear Patrol, and "Ranked 2 out of 6" by 220triathlon.com, which indicates that it's worthy of consideration.
We conducted an analysis of all of the review data that we could find on these two products. First, we focused on sources that tested and rated both of them, like coachweb.com, and learned that they all showed a preference for the Polar M430.
Then we took a look at the highest review scores that these two Fitness Trackers received. We found that the Amazfit Band 5 managed to earn a rating of 8 from coachweb.com, whereas the Polar M430 got its highest, 10, score from reviewers at coachweb.com.
Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Fitness Trackers on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Fitness Trackers being 7.5 out of 10, whereas the Amazfit Band 5 and Polar M430 managed averages of 7.7 and 8.2 points, respectively.
Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Amazfit Band 5 vs. Polar M430 comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
