The Audio-Technica ATH M50x (2014) impressed reviewers from many highly trusted sources, including TechGearLab, PCmag, Digital Camera World, Rtings, and SoundGuys. It performed great in their Over-Ear Headphone roundups - it was named "Best Wired Model" by TechGearLab, "Best Midrange Studio Monitors" by PCmag, and "Ranked 3 out of 7" by Digital Camera World. That's high praise from sources that conduct in-depth hands-on testing.
Returning to the Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Air, it managed to impress reviewers from two sources that are considered to be some of the most highly trusted on the internet, thanks to their in-depth hands-on testing - Tom's Guide and Laptop Mag. It performed great in their respective Over-Ear Headphone roundups - it was named "Great sound and comfort for the price" by Tom's Guide and "Best AirPods alternative value" by Laptop Mag. That's quite an endorsement, especially coming from such high-quality sources.
For a direct Audio-Technica ATH M50x (2014) vs. Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Air comparison, we took a look at sources that tested both and found that the Audio-Technica ATH M50x (2014) got reviewed better by CNET, whereas the reviewers at Lifewire preferred the Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 Air. Reviewers at Rtings and PCmag haven't shown a preference for either.
