Beyerdynamic Aventho Wireless vs Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9 (2012)

The Beyerdynamic Aventho Wireless is a great Closed-Back Headphone for its $289 asking price.

The Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9 (2012), however, is merely passable at its $279 price point. If you're considering buying a Closed-Back Headphone in the $220 range, you might want to check out some of its competitors.

The Beyerdynamic Aventho Wireless was loved by reviewers at SoundGuys, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "Best on-ear headphones" roundup where it was named its "Best All-Around", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Moving on to the Audio-Technica ATH-ANC9 (2012): it was unable to reach the very top of any roundups from sources that conduct reliable and unbiased testing. Nonetheless, it still managed to impress reviewers from a number of such sites, like CNET, Rtings, PCmag, What Hi-Fi?, and Reviewed, enough for them to include them on those lists.

To get a better idea of how they fare when compared directly to each other, we analyzed review scores of sources that tested both. What Hi-Fi?, for example, preferred the Beyerdynamic Aventho Wireless, while PCmag rated both of them the same.
