Bowers & Wilkins PX5 vs Libratone Q Adapt On-ear

Analysis:

The Bowers & Wilkins PX5 is a relatively good On-Ear Headphone for people that are willing to spend around $290. The Libratone Q Adapt On-ear BT, by contrast, is quite unremarkable and doesn't stand out in any meaningful way from other products at this price point.

In both cases, however, we recommend that you take look at some other options at the $290 and $150 budget ranges; in all likelihood you'll find some better alternatives.

If you're still interested in learning more about the Bowers & Wilkins PX5 and Libratone Q Adapt On-ear BT, however, we wrote a summary of what we know about them:

The Bowers & Wilkins PX5 was loved by reviewers at Rtings, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The 6 Best On-Ear Wireless Headphones - Winter 2021" roundup where it was named its "Best Noise Cancelling On-Ear Wireless Headphones", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Moving on to the Libratone Q Adapt On-ear BT: it was unable to reach the very top of any roundups from sources that conduct reliable and unbiased testing. Nonetheless, it still managed to impress reviewers from a number of such sites, like SoundGuys, PCmag, Techradar, What Hi-Fi?, TrustedReviews, and Expert Reviews, enough for them to include them on those lists.

We examined all of the review data that we could find and first took a look at sources that reviewed both of them, like Techradar and PCmag, and found that they haven't shown a preference for either product.

Then we checked which sources liked these two On-Ear Headphones best and found that the Bowers & Wilkins PX5 got its highest, 10, review score from reviewers at T3, whereas the Libratone Q Adapt On-ear BT earned its best score of 8.2 from SoundGuys.

Lastly, we averaged out all of their review ratings and observed that the Bowers & Wilkins PX5, with its 8.2 average, performed considerably better than most On-Ear Headphones - the mean score for the product category being 7.4 out of 10 - while the Libratone Q Adapt On-ear BT managed an average of 7.0.

There's one caveat here - it might not be entirely justifiable to do a direct Bowers & Wilkins PX5 vs. Libratone Q Adapt On-ear BT review average comparison since they aren't priced the same and more expensive products tend to get higher review scores from some sources.
