Brother MFC-J693X (2016) vs Epson Expression ET-3 (2017)

The Brother MFC-J6930DW is a great Home Printer for its $299 asking price.

The Epson Expression EcoTank ET-3700, however, while a reasonable product for $649, doesn't stack up against its competitors quite as well. If you're considering Home Printers in the $630 range, you might want to check out some better options.

The reviewers at PCmag have featured the Brother MFC-J6930DW in their Brother MFC-J6930DW Review roundup. However, it fell short of making it to the top of their list.

As for the Epson Expression EcoTank ET-3700 - PCmag, a source that conducts reliable hands-on testing, has featured it in its Epson Expression ET-3700 EcoTank All-in-One Supertank Printer Review roundup. However, it didn't make it to any of the top spots.

When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both Home Printers, including PCmag, preferred the Brother MFC-J6930DW over the Epson Expression EcoTank ET-3700.

We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The Brother MFC-J6930DW was liked best by PCmag, which gave it a score of 8, while the Epson Expression EcoTank ET-3700 got its highest, 6, score from PCmag.

Lastly, in order to better compare them to their competition, we averaged out their review scores and found that the Brother MFC-J6930DW got received considerably better than the majority of other Home Printers - it earned an average of 8.0 out of 10 points, compared to the 7.1 overall rating of other Home Printers - while the Epson Expression EcoTank ET-3700 performed worse than most of its competitors, with its average review score of 6.0.

It's worth keeping in mind, however, that a direct Brother MFC-J6930DW vs. Epson Expression EcoTank ET-3700 comparison might not be realistic since they're priced differently and some sources have a tendency to review more expensive products better than cheaper ones.
