Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 vs AfterShokz Trekz (2017)

Analysis:

The Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 is a great Earphone for its $99 asking price.

The AfterShokz Trekz Air (2017), however, while a reasonable product for $119, doesn't stack up against its competitors quite as well. If you're considering Earphones in the $120 range, you might want to check out some better options.

The Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 was loved by reviewers at PCmag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "Cheap AirPod Alternatives: The Best True Wireless Earbuds Under $130" roundup where it was named its "Best for An Accurate Sound Signature", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Returning to the AfterShokz Trekz Air (2017), it managed to impress reviewers from two sources that are considered to be some of the most highly trusted on the internet, thanks to their in-depth hands-on testing - TechGearLab and SoundGuys. It performed great in their respective Earphone roundups - it was named "Best for Cycling" by TechGearLab and "Ranked 2 out of 5" by SoundGuys. That's quite an endorsement, especially coming from such high-quality sources.

When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both Earphones, including Techradar and Rtings, preferred the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 over the AfterShokz Trekz Air (2017).

We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 was liked best by Techradar, which gave it a score of 10, while the AfterShokz Trekz Air (2017) got its highest, 9, score from Android Central.

Lastly, we averaged out all of their review ratings and observed that the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1, with its 8.6 average, performed considerably better than most Earphones - the mean score for the product category being 7.3 out of 10 - while the AfterShokz Trekz Air (2017) managed an average of 7.1.

There's one caveat here - it might not be entirely justifiable to do a direct Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 vs. AfterShokz Trekz Air (2017) review average comparison since they aren't priced the same and more expensive products tend to get higher review scores from some sources.
