Crucial P1 Series SSDs vs Silicon Power P34A80 Internal SSD

Analysis:

The Crucial SSD P1 500GB is a great Internal SSD for its $59 asking price.

The Silicon Power P34A80 1TB, however, while a reasonable product for $129, doesn't stack up against its competitors quite as well. If you're considering Internal SSDs in the $110 range, you might want to check out some better options.

The Crucial SSD P1 500GB was loved by reviewers at PCmag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best PCI Express NVMe Solid State Drives (SSDs) for 2020" roundup where it was named its "Best for Budget Buyers Seeking Raw Capacity", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

As for the Silicon Power P34A80 1TB analysis - it impressed reviewers at Tom's Hardware, a source that's known for its objective testing and well-thought-out methodology - it performed great in its "Best SSDs 2020: From Budget SATA to Blazing-Fast NVMe" roundup and earned the "Best 1TB (or Larger) Value M.2 SSD" title.

We conducted an analysis of all of the review data that we could find on these two products. First, we focused on sources that tested and rated both of them, like Tom's Hardware, and learned that they all showed a preference for the Silicon Power P34A80 1TB.

Then we took a look at the highest review scores that these two Internal SSDs received. We found that the Crucial SSD P1 500GB managed to earn a rating of 10 from Expert Reviews, whereas the Silicon Power P34A80 1TB got its highest, 8, score from reviewers at Tom's Hardware.

Lastly, in order to better compare them to the rest of their competition, we averaged out their review scores. The Silicon Power P34A80 1TB managed to get 8.0 out of 10 - considerably better than the 7.8 review average of Internal SSDs in general - whereas the Crucial SSD P1 500GB earned 7.2 points.

It should be said that doing a direct Crucial SSD P1 500GB vs. Silicon Power P34A80 1TB comparison might not be entirely fair due to the difference in their prices - some sources don't put much weight on value for money and thus tend to give better review scores to more expensive products.
