Thermomix TM5 vs Cuisinart Elemental Series 13-Cup Food Processor FP-13DGM

Analysis:

The Thermomix TM5 is a great Food Processor for its $2150 asking price.

The Cuisinart Elemental Series 13-Cup Food Processor FP-13DGM, on the other hand, is not worth its $169 price tag and should be avoided by most people. We strongly suggest that you take a look at some better alternatives if you're considering spending around $200 on a Food Processor.

The Thermomix TM5 was loved by reviewers at Wirecutter (NYTimes), a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "Thermomix: What to Know Before You Buy" roundup where it was named its "Well-designed and efficient but unnecessary", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Taking a look at the Cuisinart Elemental Series 13-Cup Food Processor FP-13DGM, it got featured in roundups from two reliable sources that conduct their own testing - TechGearLab and Wirecutter (NYTimes) - but it fell short of earning a top spot in either.

We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these Food Processors, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.

We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the Thermomix TM5 got its highest, 8.3, rating from CNET, while the Cuisinart Elemental Series 13-Cup Food Processor FP-13DGM earned its best, 6.2, score from TechGearLab.

Lastly, in order to better compare them to their competition, we averaged out their review scores and found that the Thermomix TM5 got received considerably better than the majority of other Food Processors - it earned an average of 8.3 out of 10 points, compared to the 7.8 overall rating of other Food Processors - while the Cuisinart Elemental Series 13-Cup Food Processor FP-13DGM performed worse than most of its competitors, with its average review score of 6.2.

It's worth keeping in mind, however, that a direct Thermomix TM5 vs. Cuisinart Elemental Series 13-Cup Food Processor FP-13DGM comparison might not be realistic since they're priced differently and some sources have a tendency to review more expensive products better than cheaper ones.
