Dell UltraSharp UQ series monitors 2017 vs Dell SD series monitors 2020
The Dell UltraSharp U2718Q 27" is a relatively good Monitor for people that are willing to spend around $400. The Dell S2721D 27", by contrast, is quite unremarkable and doesn't stand out in any meaningful way from other products at this price point.
In both cases, however, we recommend that you take look at some other options at the $400 and $210 budget ranges; in all likelihood you'll find some better alternatives.
If you're still interested in learning more about the Dell UltraSharp U2718Q 27" and Dell S2721D 27", however, we wrote a summary of what we know about them:
The Dell UltraSharp U2718Q 27" hasn't managed to earn a top spot in any roundups from sources that conduct trustworthy hands-on testing. Nevertheless, reviewers from sites, such as MakeUseOf, Rtings, and camerajabber.com all gave it a spot on their list.
Taking a look at the Dell S2721D 27", it got featured in roundups from two reliable sources that conduct their own testing - Rtings and Techradar - but it fell short of earning a top spot in either.
When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both Monitors, including Rtings, preferred the Dell UltraSharp U2718Q 27" over the Dell S2721D 27".
We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The Dell UltraSharp U2718Q 27" was liked best by MonitorNerds, which gave it a score of 8, while the Dell S2721D 27" got its highest, 7.3, score from Rtings.
Lastly, we averaged out all of their review ratings and observed that the Dell UltraSharp U2718Q 27", with its 7.8 average, performed considerably better than most Monitors - the mean score for the product category being 7.3 out of 10 - while the Dell S2721D 27" managed an average of 7.2.
There's one caveat here - it might not be entirely justifiable to do a direct Dell UltraSharp U2718Q 27" vs. Dell S2721D 27" review average comparison since they aren't priced the same and more expensive products tend to get higher review scores from some sources.
