Drop CTRL (2018) vs Logitech G610 Orion Series (2016)

Analysis:

The Drop CTRL (2018) makes for a good, if unremarkable, Wired Keyboard for people with a $200 budget.

The Logitech G610 Orion Series (2016), however, is merely mediocre at its $79 asking price, when compared to similarly priced products, and won't satisfy the needs of most people.

In either case, we suggest that you first take a look at some other options at the $200 and $100 price points before committing to one of these - it's likely that you'll be able to find some better alternatives.

If you're still interested in learning more about the Drop CTRL (2018) and Logitech G610 Orion Series (2016), however, we wrote a summary of what we could find about them:

The Drop CTRL (2018) has impressed reviewers from two sources that are among the most highly trusted on the internet, namely Laptop Mag and Wirecutter (NYTimes). It did great in their objective hands-on roundups - it earned the "Best customization in a snap" and "Other great mechanical keyboards" awards from Laptop Mag and Wirecutter (NYTimes), respectively. That's high praise from such reputable sources.

As for the Logitech G610 Orion Series (2016), it wasn't able to earn a top spot in any roundups from trusted sources that conduct their own hands-on testing. Nevertheless, it managed to impress reviewers at PC Gamer, PCmag, and Tom's Guide enough to make it onto their respective shortlists.

We examined all of the review data that we could find and first took a look at sources that reviewed both of them, like Tom's Guide, and found that they haven't shown a preference for either product.

Then we checked which sources liked these two Wired Keyboards best and found that the Drop CTRL (2018) got its highest, 7, review score from reviewers at Tom's Guide, whereas the Logitech G610 Orion Series (2016) earned its best score of 9 from PC Gamer.

Lastly, in order to better compare them to the rest of their competition, we averaged out their review scores. The Logitech G610 Orion Series (2016) managed to get 7.8 out of 10 - considerably better than the 7.4 review average of Wired Keyboards in general - whereas the Drop CTRL (2018) earned 7.0 points.

It should be said that doing a direct Drop CTRL (2018) vs. Logitech G610 Orion Series (2016) comparison might not be entirely fair due to the difference in their prices - some sources don't put much weight on value for money and thus tend to give better review scores to more expensive products.
