Klipsch R-41PM (2018) vs Edifier R2000DB

Analysis:

The Klipsch R-41PM (2018) makes for a good, if unremarkable, Computer Speaker for people with a $340 budget.

The Edifier R2000DB, however, is merely mediocre at its $249 asking price, when compared to similarly priced products, and won't satisfy the needs of most people.

In either case, we suggest that you first take a look at some other options at the $340 and $290 price points before committing to one of these - it's likely that you'll be able to find some better alternatives.

If you're still interested in learning more about the Klipsch R-41PM (2018) and Edifier R2000DB, however, we wrote a summary of what we could find about them:

The Klipsch R-41PM (2018) was loved by reviewers at PCmag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best Computer Speakers for 2020" roundup where it was named its "Best for Subwoofer Owners", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Taking a look at the Edifier R2000DB, it got featured in roundups from two reliable sources that conduct their own testing - Head-fi and Wirecutter (NYTimes) - but it fell short of earning a top spot in either.

We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these Computer Speakers, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.

We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the Klipsch R-41PM (2018) got its highest, 8, rating from PCmag, while the Edifier R2000DB earned its best, 9, score from Head-fi.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Computer Speakers on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Computer Speakers being 7.7 out of 10, whereas the Klipsch R-41PM (2018) and Edifier R2000DB managed averages of 8.0 and 9.0 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Klipsch R-41PM (2018) vs. Edifier R2000DB comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
