Google Pixel Buds vs JLab Epic2 (2016)

Analysis:

The Google Pixel Buds makes for a good, if unremarkable, Wireless Earphone for people with a $110 budget.

The JLab Epic2 (2016), however, is merely mediocre at its $20 asking price, when compared to similarly priced products, and won't satisfy the needs of most people.

In either case, we suggest that you first take a look at some other options at the $110 and $30 price points before committing to one of these - it's likely that you'll be able to find some better alternatives.

If you're still interested in learning more about the Google Pixel Buds and JLab Epic2 (2016), however, we wrote a summary of what we could find about them:

The Google Pixel Buds was loved by reviewers at Tom's Guide, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "Best wireless earbuds for 2020" roundup where it was named its "Smart buds with excellent Google integration", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

As for the JLab Epic2 (2016), it wasn't able to earn a top spot in any roundups from trusted sources that conduct their own hands-on testing. Nevertheless, it managed to impress reviewers at Head-fi, Headphone Review, PCmag, and Reviewed enough to make it onto their respective shortlists.

Lastly, in order to better compare them to the rest of their competition, we averaged out their review scores. The JLab Epic2 (2016) managed to get 8.1 out of 10 - considerably better than the 7.2 review average of Wireless Earphones in general - whereas the Google Pixel Buds earned 6.6 points.

It should be said that doing a direct Google Pixel Buds vs. JLab Epic2 (2016) comparison might not be entirely fair due to the difference in their prices - some sources don't put much weight on value for money and thus tend to give better review scores to more expensive products.
