While the KZ ATE (2015) makes for a fairly good Canal Earphone for people with a $10 budget, we weren't able to find enough data on the Google Pixel Buds to come to any reliable conclusions.

In either case, we suggest that you look at some other options before committing to one of these.

The reviewers at Head-fi have featured the KZ ATE (2015) in their KZ ATE In-Ear Monitors review roundup. However, it fell short of making it to the top of their list.

As for the Google Pixel Buds - it was really well-received by reviewers at Tom's Guide, a great source that's known for conducting high-quality in-depth testing. It performed great in its "Best wireless earbuds for 2020" roundup and was named its "Smart buds with excellent Google integration", which, on its own, makes it a product that warrants a closer look.

When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both Canal Earphones, including WIRED, preferred the KZ ATE (2015) over the Google Pixel Buds.

We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The KZ ATE (2015) was liked best by WIRED, which gave it a score of 9, while the Google Pixel Buds got its highest, 9, score from Android Central.

Lastly, in order to better compare them to their competition, we averaged out their review scores and found that the KZ ATE (2015) got received considerably better than the majority of other Canal Earphones - it earned an average of 8.6 out of 10 points, compared to the 7.4 overall rating of other Canal Earphones - while the Google Pixel Buds performed worse than most of its competitors, with its average review score of 6.3.

It's worth keeping in mind, however, that a direct KZ ATE (2015) vs. Google Pixel Buds comparison might not be realistic since they're priced differently and some sources have a tendency to review more expensive products better than cheaper ones.
