GoPro Hero6 Black (2017) vs Rylo (2018)
The GoPro Hero6 Black (2017) has impressed reviewers from two sources that are among the most highly trusted on the internet, namely Wareable and road.cc. It did great in their objective hands-on roundups - it earned the "Ranked 1 out of 9" and "Ranked 1 out of 2" awards from Wareable and road.cc, respectively. That's high praise from such reputable sources.
As for the Rylo (2018) - it impressed reviewers at reviewgeek.com, a trustworthy source that conducts solid hands-on testing. It did great in its "The Best 360-Degree Action Cameras" roundup - in fact, it earned its "Ranked 1 out of 4" title, which, on its own, indicates a certain level of quality.
To get a better idea of how they fare when compared directly to each other, we analyzed review scores of sources that tested both. Tom's Guide and PCmag, for example, preferred the GoPro Hero6 Black (2017), while Digitaltrends rated both of them the same.
We also took a look at which sources had the best things to say about them. We learned that the GoPro Hero6 Black (2017) got reviewed the highest by camerajabber.com - it gave it a rating of 10, while the Rylo (2018) most impressed reviewers at slashgear.com, which gave it a score of 8.
Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Action Cameras on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Action Cameras being 7.4 out of 10, whereas the GoPro Hero6 Black (2017) and Rylo (2018) managed averages of 8.7 and 7.7 points, respectively.
Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct GoPro Hero6 Black (2017) vs. Rylo (2018) comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
