Hisense H9 Quantum series TVs (2020) vs TCL 5 series (2019)
The Hisense H9G Quantum 55" is a great TV for its $699 asking price.
The TCL S5 2019 43", however, while a reasonable product for $319, doesn't stack up against its competitors quite as well. If you're considering TVs in the $220 range, you might want to check out some better options.
The Hisense H9G Quantum 55" got praised by Rtings and PCmag - two highly trusted sources that perform in-depth hands-on testing. It was awarded the "Best 55 Inch TV For HDR" title from Rtings and "Excellent Value for the Price" from PCmag in their respective TV roundups.
Returning to the TCL S5 2019 43", Rtings, a source that's known for its high-quality in-depth testing, has great things to say about it. In fact, it was named its "Best TV Under $300" in its "The 5 Best TVs Under $300 - Winter 2021" roundup, which is quite a feat.
When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both TVs, including Rtings, preferred the Hisense H9G Quantum 55" over the TCL S5 2019 43".
We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The Hisense H9G Quantum 55" was liked best by PCmag, which gave it a score of 9, while the TCL S5 2019 43" got its highest, 7.1, score from Rtings.
Lastly, in order to better compare them to their competition, we averaged out their review scores and found that the Hisense H9G Quantum 55" got received considerably better than the majority of other TVs - it earned an average of 8.7 out of 10 points, compared to the 7.7 overall rating of other TVs - while the TCL S5 2019 43" performed worse than most of its competitors, with its average review score of 6.5.
It's worth keeping in mind, however, that a direct Hisense H9G Quantum 55" vs. TCL S5 2019 43" comparison might not be realistic since they're priced differently and some sources have a tendency to review more expensive products better than cheaper ones.
