HP OfficeJet Pro 9000 Series (2019) vs Canon Pixma MG5 (2014)
The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is a great Home Printer for its $229 asking price.
The Canon Pixma MG5620, however, is merely passable at its $574 price point. If you're considering buying a Home Printer in the $610 range, you might want to check out some of its competitors.
The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 has done great in quite a few roundups from some of the most highly trusted sources available, such as Wirecutter (NYTimes), PCmag, and Rtings, which perform high-quality in-depth testing. It got awarded the "Top Pick" title by Wirecutter (NYTimes), "Best for Medium-Volume Small Offices" by PCmag, and "Best HP Printer For Family Use" by Rtings in their respective roundups. Earning that much praise from such respected sources is undoubtedly an impressive accomplishment.
As for the Canon Pixma MG5620, it wasn't able to earn a top spot in any roundups from trusted sources that conduct their own hands-on testing. Nevertheless, it managed to impress reviewers at Tom's Guide, CNET, and PCmag enough to make it onto their respective shortlists.
When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both Home Printers, including PCmag, preferred the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 over the Canon Pixma MG5620.
We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 was liked best by Gadget Review, which gave it a score of 9.4, while the Canon Pixma MG5620 got its highest, 8, score from Tom's Guide.
Lastly, we averaged out all of their review ratings and observed that the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015, with its 8.8 average, performed considerably better than most Home Printers - the mean score for the product category being 7.1 out of 10 - while the Canon Pixma MG5620 managed an average of 7.0.
There's one caveat here - it might not be entirely justifiable to do a direct HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 vs. Canon Pixma MG5620 review average comparison since they aren't priced the same and more expensive products tend to get higher review scores from some sources.
