Steelseries Apex 3 (2020) vs HyperX Alloy Elite 2

Analysis:

The Steelseries Apex 3 (2020) is an example of a great Wired Keyboard at its $55 budget.

In the case of the $129 HyperX Alloy Elite 2, however, we weren't able to find enough data to come to any reliable conclusions. If you're considering buying a Wired Keyboard in the $95 range, we encourage you to take a look at some other options.

The Steelseries Apex 3 (2020) has managed to impress reviewers from some of the most highly trusted sources on the internet, including Rtings and TechGearLab. It performed great in their in-depth hands-on roundups - it was awarded the "Best Cheap Non-Mechanical Gaming Keyboard" title by Rtings and "Best Full-Size Rubber Dome Keyboard" by TechGearLab in their respective Wired Keyboard roundups. That's high praise, especially when coming from such high-quality sources.

Moving on to the HyperX Alloy Elite 2: it was loved by Expert Reviews and The Independent - two reliable sources that conduct their own in-depth testing. In fact, it was named "The best gaming keyboard for features" and "Ranked 1 out of 11" in their respective roundups, which points to it being a product worthy of consideration.

We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these Wired Keyboards, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.

We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the Steelseries Apex 3 (2020) got its highest, 9.6, rating from Lifewire, while the HyperX Alloy Elite 2 earned its best, 8.5, score from idg.com.au.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Wired Keyboards on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Wired Keyboards being 7.4 out of 10, whereas the Steelseries Apex 3 (2020) and HyperX Alloy Elite 2 managed averages of 7.9 and 7.9 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Steelseries Apex 3 (2020) vs. HyperX Alloy Elite 2 comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
