Steelseries Apex 3 (2020) vs HyperX Alloy Elite (2018)

Analysis:

The Steelseries Apex 3 (2020) is an example of a great Wired Keyboard at its $65 budget.

In the case of the HyperX Alloy Elite RGB (2018), however, we weren't able to find enough data to come to any reliable conclusions.

The Steelseries Apex 3 (2020) managed to impress reviewers from two reliable and unbiased sources that conduct their own hands-on testing, namely Techradar and creativebloq.com. It performed great in their roundups - it earned the "The Apex of value" title from Techradar and "The best cheap gaming keyboard" from creativebloq.com, which makes it a product worthy of consideration.

Moving on to the HyperX Alloy Elite RGB (2018): it was unable to reach the very top of any roundups from sources that conduct reliable and unbiased testing. Nonetheless, it still managed to impress reviewers from a number of such sites, like PC Gamer, Tom's Guide, Techradar, Tom's Hardware, PCmag, and PCGamesN, enough for them to include them on those lists.

We analyzed all of the review data that we could find on these two Wired Keyboards. First, we examined sources that tested and scored both of these products - Tom's Guide favored the HyperX Alloy Elite RGB (2018) over the Steelseries Apex 3 (2020), whereas reviewers at Techradar haven't shown a preference for either.

Then we took a look at which sources liked them the most - we found that the Steelseries Apex 3 (2020) was best received by Lifewire - it gave it a score of 9.6, whereas the HyperX Alloy Elite RGB (2018) got its highest score of 8 from reviewers at Tom's Guide.

Lastly, we averaged out all of their review ratings and observed that the Steelseries Apex 3 (2020), with its 7.9 average, performed considerably better than most Wired Keyboards - the mean score for the product category being 7.4 out of 10 - while the HyperX Alloy Elite RGB (2018) managed an average of 7.4.

There's one caveat here - it might not be entirely justifiable to do a direct Steelseries Apex 3 (2020) vs. HyperX Alloy Elite RGB (2018) review average comparison since they aren't priced the same and more expensive products tend to get higher review scores from some sources.
