iRobot Roomba i6/i7 Series vs iLife A4s
The iRobot Roomba i6+/i7+ makes for an outstanding Robot Vacuum at $796. The iLife A4s, however, while overall a good product for its asking price, doesn't quite manage to stand out from its competition - there are better Robot Vacuums that can be found for around $150 available here.
The iRobot Roomba i6+/i7+ has managed to do great in various roundups conducted by reviewers from highly trusted sources that perform objective in-depth testing, like TechGearLab, Tom's Guide, and Rtings - it was dubbed "Top Pick" by TechGearLab, "Best Roomba for large homes with multiple rooms" by Tom's Guide, and "Runner Up for Best Robot Vacuum For Low-Pile Carpet - Alternative With Automatic Dirt Compartment" by Rtings. Any product that's held in such high regard by some of the most reliable sources should be considered by everyone who's looking for a Robot Vacuum at this price.
Moving on to the iLife A4s: it was unable to reach the very top of any roundups from sources that conduct reliable and unbiased testing. Nonetheless, it still managed to impress reviewers from a number of such sites, like Modern Castle, PCmag, TechGearLab, Wirecutter (NYTimes), Reviewed, and inews.co.uk, enough for them to include them on those lists.
To get a better idea of how they fare when compared directly to each other, we analyzed review scores of sources that tested both. TechGearLab and Modern Castle, for example, preferred the iRobot Roomba i6+/i7+, while PCmag rated both of them the same.
We also took a look at which sources had the best things to say about them. We learned that the iRobot Roomba i6+/i7+ got reviewed the highest by TechGearLab - it gave it a rating of 10, while the iLife A4s most impressed reviewers at Modern Castle, which gave it a score of 9.1.
Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Robot Vacuums on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Robot Vacuums being 7.2 out of 10, whereas the iRobot Roomba i6+/i7+ and iLife A4s managed averages of 8.6 and 8.0 points, respectively.
Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct iRobot Roomba i6+/i7+ vs. iLife A4s comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
