AMD Athlon 200GE Unlocked vs Intel Core i9 9900K Unlocked

The AMD Athlon 200GE is a great CPU for its $126 asking price.

The Intel Core i9-9900K, however, while a reasonable product for $373, doesn't stack up against its competitors quite as well. If you're considering CPUs in the $480 range, you might want to check out some better options.

The AMD Athlon 200GE hasn't managed to earn a top spot in any roundups from sources that conduct trustworthy hands-on testing. Nevertheless, reviewers from sites, such as PCmag, TechSpot, and Tom's Hardware all gave it a spot on their list.

As for the Intel Core i9-9900K, it was really well-received by reviewers at PCmag, a reliable source that's known for conducting its own, high-quality, in-depth testing. It performed great in its "The Best CPUs for Gaming in 2020" roundup and was named its "Best for Peak Frame Rates, Content Work on 300 Series (Socket LGA 1151)", which, on its own, makes it a product that warrants a closer look.

We analyzed all of the review data that we could find on these two CPUs. First, we examined sources that tested and scored both of these products - Tom's Hardware and TechSpot favored the Intel Core i9-9900K over the AMD Athlon 200GE, whereas reviewers at PCmag haven't shown a preference for either.

Then we took a look at which sources liked them the most - we found that the AMD Athlon 200GE was best received by PCmag - it gave it a score of 8, whereas the Intel Core i9-9900K got its highest score of 9 from reviewers at Tom's Hardware.
