AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and 3600X Series Unlocked vs Intel Core i9 9900K Unlocked

The AMD Ryzen 5 3600X makes for an outstanding CPU at $258. The Intel Core i9-9900K, however, while overall a good product for its asking price, doesn't quite manage to stand out from its competition - there are better CPUs that can be found for around $330 available here.

The AMD Ryzen 5 3600X was loved by reviewers at PCmag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best CPUs for Gaming in 2020" roundup where it was named its "Best for Well-Balanced Gaming, Content Work (on Socket AM4)", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

As for the Intel Core i9-9900K - it was really well-received by reviewers at PCmag, a great source that's known for conducting high-quality in-depth testing. It performed great in its "The Best CPUs for Gaming in 2020" roundup and was named its "Best for Peak Frame Rates, Content Work on 300 Series (Socket LGA 1151)", which, on its own, makes it a product that warrants a closer look.

To get a better idea of how they fare when compared directly to each other, we analyzed review scores of sources that tested both. Techradar, for example, preferred the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, while Tom's Hardware, PCmag, and PCGamesN rated both of them the same.

We also took a look at which sources had the best things to say about them. We learned that the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X got reviewed the highest by Windows Central - it gave it a rating of 10, while the Intel Core i9-9900K most impressed reviewers at Tom's Hardware, which gave it a score of 9.
