Samsung 860 QVO Series SSDs vs Intel SSD Series 760p (2018)

Analysis:

The Samsung SSD 860 QVO 1TB makes for a good, if unremarkable, Internal SSD for people with a $140 budget.

The Intel SSD 760p 128GB, however, is merely mediocre at its $65 asking price, when compared to similarly priced products, and won't satisfy the needs of most people.

In either case, we suggest that you first take a look at some other options at the $140 and $60 price points before committing to one of these - it's likely that you'll be able to find some better alternatives.

If you're still interested in learning more about the Samsung SSD 860 QVO 1TB and Intel SSD 760p 128GB, however, we wrote a summary of what we could find about them:

The Samsung SSD 860 QVO 1TB was loved by reviewers at PCmag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best SSDs for Upgrading Your Laptop in 2020" roundup where it was named its "Best for Budget Upgraders", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Taking a look at the Intel SSD 760p 128GB, it got featured in roundups from two reliable sources that conduct their own testing - Techradar and Wirecutter (NYTimes) - but it fell short of earning a top spot in either.

We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these Internal SSDs, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.

We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the Samsung SSD 860 QVO 1TB got its highest, 8.2, rating from TechSpot, while the Intel SSD 760p 128GB earned its best, 10, score from Techradar.

Finally, we compared them to other Internal SSDs on the market and found that the two of them got reviewed similarly to the majority of their competitors. The overall average review score for Internal SSDs in general is 7.8 out of 10, whereas the Samsung SSD 860 QVO 1TB and Intel SSD 760p 128GB managed averages of 7.5 and 10.0 points, respectively.

It should be noted that it might not be entirely fair to do a direct Samsung SSD 860 QVO 1TB vs. Intel SSD 760p 128GB comparison due to the difference in their pricing; some sources have a tendency to review more premium products better than more affordable ones.
