JBL Portable Link Smart Speakers (2017) vs Marshall Uxbridge

Analysis:

The JBL Link 10 (2017) was loved by reviewers at CNET, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "Best Christmas gifts for under $100: Bose and JBL wireless speakers, SNES Classic and more" roundup where it was named its "Ranked 2 out of 13", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Moving on to the Marshall Uxbridge with Amazon Alexa: it was loved by techadvisor.com and Popular Mechanics - two reliable sources that conduct their own in-depth testing. In fact, it was named "Best Style" and "Best Design" in their respective roundups, which points to it being a product worthy of consideration.

To get a better idea of how they fare when compared directly to each other, we analyzed review scores of sources that tested both. What Hi-Fi?, Techradar, and SoundGuys, for example, preferred the JBL Link 10 (2017), while PCmag and TrustedReviews rated both of them the same.

We also took a look at which sources had the best things to say about them. We learned that the JBL Link 10 (2017) got reviewed the highest by Technically Well - it gave it a rating of 9.5, while the Marshall Uxbridge with Amazon Alexa most impressed reviewers at PCmag, which gave it a score of 8.

Lastly, we averaged out all of their review ratings and observed that the JBL Link 10 (2017), with its 8.2 average, performed considerably better than most Smart Speakers - the mean score for the product category being 7.4 out of 10 - while the Marshall Uxbridge with Amazon Alexa managed an average of 7.2.

There's one caveat here - it might not be entirely justifiable to do a direct JBL Link 10 (2017) vs. Marshall Uxbridge with Amazon Alexa review average comparison since they aren't priced the same and more expensive products tend to get higher review scores from some sources.
