Bose QuietComfort 20 (2013) vs JLab Jbuds Air Executive
The Bose QuietComfort 20 (2013) is a great Earphone for its $249 asking price.
The JLab Jbuds Air Executive, however, while a reasonable product for $57, doesn't stack up against its competitors quite as well. If you're considering Earphones in the $35 range, you might want to check out some better options.
The Bose QuietComfort 20 (2013) has managed to do great in various roundups conducted by reviewers from highly trusted sources that perform objective in-depth testing, like Rtings, SoundGuys, and Wirecutter (NYTimes) - it was dubbed "Best Wired Noise Cancelling Earbuds" by Rtings, "Best All-Around" by SoundGuys, and "Bose’s best noise-cancelling earbuds (for Apple devices)" by Wirecutter (NYTimes). Any product that's held in such high regard by some of the most reliable sources should be considered by everyone who's looking for a Earphone at this price.
Moving on to the JLab Jbuds Air Executive: it was unable to reach the very top of any roundups from sources that conduct reliable and unbiased testing. Nonetheless, it still managed to impress reviewers from a number of such sites, like Techradar, Rtings, SoundGuys, Android Authority, PCmag, and Wirecutter (NYTimes), enough for them to include them on those lists.
To get a better idea of how they fare when compared directly to each other, we analyzed review scores of sources that tested both. PCmag and Rtings, for example, preferred the Bose QuietComfort 20 (2013), while Techradar rated both of them the same.
We also took a look at which sources had the best things to say about them. We learned that the Bose QuietComfort 20 (2013) got reviewed the highest by PCmag - it gave it a rating of 9, while the JLab Jbuds Air Executive most impressed reviewers at Techradar, which gave it a score of 8.
Lastly, we averaged out all of their review ratings and observed that the Bose QuietComfort 20 (2013), with its 8.1 average, performed considerably better than most Earphones - the mean score for the product category being 7.3 out of 10 - while the JLab Jbuds Air Executive managed an average of 7.0.
There's one caveat here - it might not be entirely justifiable to do a direct Bose QuietComfort 20 (2013) vs. JLab Jbuds Air Executive review average comparison since they aren't priced the same and more expensive products tend to get higher review scores from some sources.
