Kingston KC2000 vs Western Digital Black SN750 SSD

Analysis:

The Kingston KC2000 250GB and Western Digital SSD Black SN750 250GB are both excellent choices at their respective budgets. The Kingston KC2000 250GB is among the very best Internal SSDs for $79 and the Western Digital SSD Black SN750 250GB is exemplary at $54. Depending on how much you're willing to spend, you can't go wrong with either option.

The Kingston KC2000 250GB was loved by reviewers at PCmag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The Best Internal SSDs for 2020" roundup where it was named its "Best for Budget Upgraders", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Returning to the Western Digital SSD Black SN750 250GB, PCmag, a source that's known for its high-quality in-depth testing, has great things to say about it. In fact, it was named its "Best for Hardcore Gamers, Media Editors" in its "The Best SSDs for Upgrading Your Laptop in 2020" roundup, which is quite a feat.

We examined all of the review data that we could find and first took a look at sources that reviewed both of them, like PCWorld, Tom's Hardware, and PCmag, and found that they haven't shown a preference for either product.

Then we checked which sources liked these two Internal SSDs best and found that the Kingston KC2000 250GB got its highest, 9, review score from reviewers at PCWorld, whereas the Western Digital SSD Black SN750 250GB earned its best score of 10 from Techradar.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Internal SSDs on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Internal SSDs being 7.8 out of 10, whereas the Kingston KC2000 250GB and Western Digital SSD Black SN750 250GB managed averages of 8.2 and 8.6 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Kingston KC2000 250GB vs. Western Digital SSD Black SN750 250GB comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
