Shure SE215 vs KZ ZS3
The KZ ZS3 makes for a good, if unremarkable, Canal Earphone for people with a $9 budget.
The Shure SE215, however, is merely mediocre at its $79 asking price, when compared to similarly priced products, and won't satisfy the needs of most people.
In either case, we suggest that you first take a look at some other options at the $9 and $90 price points before committing to one of these - it's likely that you'll be able to find some better alternatives.
If you're still interested in learning more about the KZ ZS3 and Shure SE215, however, we wrote a summary of what we could find about them:
The reviewers at Head-fi have featured the KZ ZS3 in their KZ-ZS3 Hifi High-End 3.5mm In-Ear Earphone Headphones Earpiece Original Headset Bass Earbuds With Microphone review roundup. However, it fell short of making it to the top of their list.
Returning to the Shure SE215, SoundGuys, a source that's known for its high-quality in-depth testing, has great things to say about it. In fact, it was named its "Best In-Ears" in its "Best headphones for ASMR" roundup, which is quite a feat.
We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these Canal Earphones, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.
We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the KZ ZS3 got its highest, 9, rating from Head-fi, while the Shure SE215 earned its best, 6.1, score from Rtings.
Lastly, in order to better compare them to their competition, we averaged out their review scores and found that the KZ ZS3 got received considerably better than the majority of other Canal Earphones - it earned an average of 9.0 out of 10 points, compared to the 7.4 overall rating of other Canal Earphones - while the Shure SE215 performed worse than most of its competitors, with its average review score of 6.1.
It's worth keeping in mind, however, that a direct KZ ZS3 vs. Shure SE215 comparison might not be realistic since they're priced differently and some sources have a tendency to review more expensive products better than cheaper ones.
