KZ ZST (2016) vs JBL Endurance Jump

Analysis:

The KZ ZST (2016) makes for a good, if unremarkable, Earphone for people with a $14 budget.

The JBL Endurance Jump, however, is merely mediocre at its $34 asking price, when compared to similarly priced products, and won't satisfy the needs of most people.

In either case, we suggest that you first take a look at some other options at the $14 and $30 price points before committing to one of these - it's likely that you'll be able to find some better alternatives.

If you're still interested in learning more about the KZ ZST (2016) and JBL Endurance Jump, however, we wrote a summary of what we could find about them:

The KZ ZST (2016) was loved by reviewers at Rtings, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The 5 Best Earbuds And Headphones Under $20 - Winter 2021" roundup where it was named its "Runner Up for Best Earbuds Under $20 - Wired Alternative", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

Taking a look at the JBL Endurance Jump, it got featured in roundups from two reliable sources that conduct their own testing - PCmag and Wirecutter (NYTimes) - but it fell short of earning a top spot in either.

We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these Earphones, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.

We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the KZ ZST (2016) got its highest, 8.3, rating from Head-fi, while the JBL Endurance Jump earned its best, 8, score from PCmag.

Lastly, in order to better compare them to the rest of their competition, we averaged out their review scores. The JBL Endurance Jump managed to get 8.0 out of 10 - considerably better than the 7.3 review average of Earphones in general - whereas the KZ ZST (2016) earned 6.9 points.

It should be said that doing a direct KZ ZST (2016) vs. JBL Endurance Jump comparison might not be entirely fair due to the difference in their prices - some sources don't put much weight on value for money and thus tend to give better review scores to more expensive products.
