Analysis:

The Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch, 128GB, 1.4GHz i5, 8GB RAM (mid-2019) is one of the very best Traditional Laptops that one can get for around $1,200. The Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme 2nd Gen i7-9750H, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD(2019), however, while a very good choice at its $2,200 price point, falls just short of being remarkable.

The Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch, 128GB, 1.4GHz i5, 8GB RAM (mid-2019) has done really well in a number of roundups conducted by sources that perform reliable hands-on testing, like Techradar, TechSpot, PCmag, and Notebookcheck.net - it ended up getting the "The best laptop for graphic design in the world" title from Techradar, "Best MacBooks" from TechSpot, and "Best for macOS-Bound Content Creators, Power Users" from PCmag. That's high praise coming from reliable sources.

Taking a look at the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme 2nd Gen i7-9750H, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD(2019), we found that it was received really well by reviewers from highly trusted sources that conduct objective in-depth testing, including Laptop Mag, PCmag, Wirecutter, and Wirecutter (NYTimes) - it was named "The best multimedia laptop" by Laptop Mag, "Best for Content Creators, Multimedia Pros" by PCmag, and "Ranked 3 out of 8" by Wirecutter in their respective roundups. Any product that's praised by this many of the internet's most trustworthy sources should be considered by everyone who's in the market for a Traditional Laptop at this price point.

To get a better idea of how they fare when compared directly to each other, we analyzed review scores of sources that tested both. Notebookcheck.net, for example, preferred the Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch, 128GB, 1.4GHz i5, 8GB RAM (mid-2019), while Laptop Mag and PCmag rated both of them the same.

We also took a look at which sources had the best things to say about them. We learned that the Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch, 128GB, 1.4GHz i5, 8GB RAM (mid-2019) got reviewed the highest by Lifewire - it gave it a rating of 9.4, while the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme 2nd Gen i7-9750H, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD(2019) most impressed reviewers at Notebookcheck.net, which gave it a score of 8.7.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Traditional Laptops on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Traditional Laptops being 7.6 out of 10, whereas the Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch, 128GB, 1.4GHz i5, 8GB RAM (mid-2019) and Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Extreme 2nd Gen i7-9750H, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD(2019) managed averages of 8.3 and 8.0 points, respectively.
