The Samsung QLED QN90A 75" got praised by HomeTheaterReview.com and Wirecutter - two highly trusted sources that perform in-depth hands-on testing. It was awarded the "Ranked 1 out of 3" title from HomeTheaterReview.com and "Ranked 3 out of 6" from Wirecutter in their respective TV roundups.
As for the LG CX OLED 55", it was really well-received by reviewers at CNET, a reliable source that's known for conducting its own, high-quality, in-depth testing. It performed great in its "Best TV and streamer gifts for the 2020 holidays" roundup and was named its "Best high-end TV", which, on its own, makes it a product that warrants a closer look.
We conducted an analysis of all of the review data that we could find on these two products. First, we focused on sources that tested and rated both of them, like CNET, and learned that they all showed a preference for the LG CX OLED 55".
Then we took a look at the highest review scores that these two TVs received. We found that the Samsung QLED QN90A 75" managed to earn a rating of 9 from PCmag, whereas the LG CX OLED 55" got its highest, 10, score from reviewers at TrustedReviews.
Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other TVs on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by TVs being 7.7 out of 10, whereas the Samsung QLED QN90A 75" and LG CX OLED 55" managed averages of 8.6 and 9.2 points, respectively.
Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Samsung QLED QN90A 75" vs. LG CX OLED 55" comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
