LG G8X ThinQ (2019)
See Top Ranked Smartphones

LG G8 vs LG G6

Analysis:

The LG G8X ThinQ (2019) makes for a good, if unremarkable, Smartphone for people with a $680 budget.

The LG G6, however, is merely mediocre at its $188 asking price, when compared to similarly priced products, and won't satisfy the needs of most people.

In either case, we suggest that you first take a look at some other options at the $680 and $160 price points before committing to one of these - it's likely that you'll be able to find some better alternatives.

If you're still interested in learning more about the LG G8X ThinQ (2019) and LG G6, however, we wrote a summary of what we could find about them:

The LG G8X ThinQ (2019) was loved by reviewers at Tom's Guide, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "Best of IFA 2019: Top New Phones, Laptops, TVs and More" roundup where it was named its "Ranked 1 out of 10", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

As for the LG G6 analysis - it impressed reviewers at Android Central, a source that's known for its objective testing and well-thought-out methodology - it performed great in its "Best T-Mobile Prepaid Phones" roundup and earned the "Best for less" title.

Out of the sources that tested and rated both of these Smartphones, CNET preferred the LG G8X ThinQ (2019), whereas reviewers at Pocket-lint, GSMArena, Android Authority, Digitaltrends, Tech Advisor, PhoneArena, TechSpot, slashgear.com, TrustedReviews, PCmag, and The Verge liked the LG G6 better. Techradar gave them identical review scores.

We also took a look at which sources liked these products best - the highest LG G8X ThinQ (2019) rating came from Android Authority, whereas the LG G6 most impressed reviewers at Pocket-lint; they earned scores of 8.9 and 10, respectively.

Lastly, in order to better compare them to the rest of their competition, we averaged out their review scores. The LG G6 managed to get 8.2 out of 10 - considerably better than the 7.5 review average of Smartphones in general - whereas the LG G8X ThinQ (2019) earned 7.3 points.

It should be said that doing a direct LG G8X ThinQ (2019) vs. LG G6 comparison might not be entirely fair due to the difference in their prices - some sources don't put much weight on value for money and thus tend to give better review scores to more expensive products.
