LG MP59 series monitors (2017) vs ASUS MG279Q 2015
The LG 24MP59G 24" is a great Monitor for its $171 asking price.
The ASUS MG279Q 27", on the other hand, is not worth its $379 price tag and should be avoided by most people. We strongly suggest that you take a look at some better alternatives if you're considering spending around $400 on a Monitor.
The LG 24MP59G 24" was loved by reviewers at Laptop Mag, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "The best gaming monitors in 2021" roundup where it was named its "Best cheap gaming monitor", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.
Taking a look at the ASUS MG279Q 27", it got featured in roundups from two reliable sources that conduct their own testing - TrustedReviews and PCmag - but it fell short of earning a top spot in either.
We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these Monitors, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.
We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the LG 24MP59G 24" got its highest, 6.9, rating from Rtings, while the ASUS MG279Q 27" earned its best, 8.4, score from GamingScan.
Lastly, in order to better compare them to the rest of their competition, we averaged out their review scores. The ASUS MG279Q 27" managed to get 8.0 out of 10 - considerably better than the 7.3 review average of Monitors in general - whereas the LG 24MP59G 24" earned 6.9 points.
It should be said that doing a direct LG 24MP59G 24" vs. ASUS MG279Q 27" comparison might not be entirely fair due to the difference in their prices - some sources don't put much weight on value for money and thus tend to give better review scores to more expensive products.
