Beats Powerbeats3 (2016) vs Libratone Q Adapt In-ear

Analysis:

The Beats Powerbeats3 (2016) is a great Earphone for its $79 asking price.

The Libratone Q Adapt In-ear, however, is merely passable at its $137 price point. If you're considering buying a Earphone in the $140 range, you might want to check out some of its competitors.

The Beats Powerbeats3 (2016) has impressed reviewers from two sources that are among the most highly trusted on the internet, namely Rtings and TechGearLab. It did great in their objective hands-on roundups - it earned the "Best Bluetooth Earbuds For iPhone Under $100" and "Additional Stability on a Budget" awards from Rtings and TechGearLab, respectively. That's high praise from such reputable sources.

As for the Libratone Q Adapt In-ear - it was really well-received by reviewers at PCmag, a great source that's known for conducting high-quality in-depth testing. It performed great in its "The Best Wired Headphones for 2020" roundup and was named its "Best for iPhone Users", which, on its own, makes it a product that warrants a closer look.

We analyzed all of the review data that we could find on these two Earphones. First, we examined sources that tested and scored both of these products - PCmag favored the Libratone Q Adapt In-ear over the Beats Powerbeats3 (2016), whereas reviewers at What Hi-Fi?, SoundGuys, and Techradar haven't shown a preference for either.

Then we took a look at which sources liked them the most - we found that the Beats Powerbeats3 (2016) was best received by Runnerclick - it gave it a score of 9.2, whereas the Libratone Q Adapt In-ear got its highest score of 8 from reviewers at What Hi-Fi?.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Earphones on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Earphones being 7.3 out of 10, whereas the Beats Powerbeats3 (2016) and Libratone Q Adapt In-ear managed averages of 7.7 and 7.4 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Beats Powerbeats3 (2016) vs. Libratone Q Adapt In-ear comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
