Bose QuietComfort 25 (2014) vs Mixcder E7

Analysis:

The Bose QuietComfort 25 (2014) makes for an outstanding Over-Ear Headphone at $299. The Mixcder E7, however, while overall a good product for its asking price, doesn't quite manage to stand out from its competition - there are better Over-Ear Headphones that can be found for around $60 available here.

The Bose QuietComfort 25 (2014) has managed to impress reviewers from some of the most highly trusted sources on the internet, including Tom's Guide and Rtings. It performed great in their in-depth hands-on roundups - it was awarded the "Excellent noise cancellation for cheap" title by Tom's Guide and "Runner Up for Best Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones Under $200 - Wired Alternative With Better Noise Isolation" by Rtings in their respective Over-Ear Headphone roundups. That's high praise, especially when coming from such high-quality sources.

Taking a look at the Mixcder E7, it got featured in roundups from two reliable sources that conduct their own testing - Head-fi and TrustedReviews - but it fell short of earning a top spot in either.

We analyzed all of the review data that we could find on these two Over-Ear Headphones. First, we examined sources that tested and scored both of these products - Head-fi favored the Mixcder E7 over the Bose QuietComfort 25 (2014), whereas reviewers at TrustedReviews haven't shown a preference for either.

Then we took a look at which sources liked them the most - we found that the Bose QuietComfort 25 (2014) was best received by Tom's Guide - it gave it a score of 10, whereas the Mixcder E7 got its highest score of 10 from reviewers at Head-fi.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Over-Ear Headphones on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Over-Ear Headphones being 7.5 out of 10, whereas the Bose QuietComfort 25 (2014) and Mixcder E7 managed averages of 8.7 and 8.0 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Bose QuietComfort 25 (2014) vs. Mixcder E7 comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
