The Monoprice Maker Select Mini v2 (2017) was loved by reviewers at CNET, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "Best 3D printers for 2021" roundup where it was named its "Best 3D printer for beginners", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.
Returning to the Monoprice Voxel (2018), it managed to impress reviewers from some of the internet's most highly trusted sources, Tom's Guide and PCmag. It performed great in their hands-on roundups - it was named "Best 3D printer for most people" by Tom's Guide and "Best for Bargain Hunters Wanting Large Prints" by PCmag. That's quite an achievement, especially coming from such high-quality sources.
We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these FFF Home 3D Printers, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.
We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the Monoprice Maker Select Mini v2 (2017) got its highest, 8, rating from TechGearLab, while the Monoprice Voxel (2018) earned its best, 9.1, score from Gadget Review.
Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other FFF Home 3D Printers on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by FFF Home 3D Printers being 7.2 out of 10, whereas the Monoprice Maker Select Mini v2 (2017) and Monoprice Voxel (2018) managed averages of 8.0 and 7.5 points, respectively.
