Samsung Galaxy Note10 (2019/2020) vs Moto G6 (2018)

Analysis:

The Samsung Galaxy Note10 Plus (2019) is a relatively good Smartphone for people that are willing to spend around $640. The Moto G6 Play (2018), by contrast, is quite unremarkable and doesn't stand out in any meaningful way from other products at this price point.

In both cases, however, we recommend that you take look at some other options at the $640 and $160 budget ranges; in all likelihood you'll find some better alternatives.

If you're still interested in learning more about the Samsung Galaxy Note10 Plus (2019) and Moto G6 Play (2018), however, we wrote a summary of what we know about them:

The Samsung Galaxy Note10 Plus (2019) impressed reviewers from a large number of trusted sources that conduct reliable hands-on testing, including PCWorld, CNET, Windows Central, Techradar, Digital Camera World, Android Authority, and Tom's Guide. It performed great in their respective roundups - it was named "Best Android phone for productivity" by PCWorld, "Most premium Android for your money" by CNET, and "Best Phone for Windows Users" by Windows Central. Earning that much praise from such reliable sources is a good sign that the product is worth the money.

As for the Moto G6 Play (2018), it was really well-received by reviewers at CNET, a reliable source that's known for conducting its own, high-quality, in-depth testing. It performed great in its "Best AT&T phones of 2021: Apple, Samsung and more compared" roundup and was named its "Super affordable with a great battery", which, on its own, makes it a product that warrants a closer look.

To get a better idea of how they fare when compared directly to each other, we analyzed review scores of sources that tested both. Expert Reviews, CNET, Digitaltrends, Tech Advisor, Techradar, Pocket-lint, Notebookcheck.net, and Android Central, for example, preferred the Samsung Galaxy Note10 Plus (2019), while TrustedReviews and PCmag rated both of them the same.

We also took a look at which sources had the best things to say about them. We learned that the Samsung Galaxy Note10 Plus (2019) got reviewed the highest by Expert Reviews - it gave it a rating of 10, while the Moto G6 Play (2018) most impressed reviewers at TrustedReviews, which gave it a score of 9.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Smartphones on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Smartphones being 7.5 out of 10, whereas the Samsung Galaxy Note10 Plus (2019) and Moto G6 Play (2018) managed averages of 8.6 and 7.9 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Samsung Galaxy Note10 Plus (2019) vs. Moto G6 Play (2018) comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
