Any product that's held in such high regard by some of the most reliable sources should be considered by everyone who's looking for a Smartphone at this price.
Moving on to the Moto Z4 (2019): it was unable to reach the very top of any roundups from sources that conduct reliable and unbiased testing. Nonetheless, it still managed to impress reviewers from a number of such sites, like PhoneArena, CNET, Tom's Guide, PCmag, Techradar, and Android Authority, enough for them to include them on those lists.
To get a better idea of how they fare when compared directly to each other, we analyzed review scores of sources that tested both. Tom's Guide, Techradar, and CNET, for example, preferred the Apple iPhone XR, while PhoneArena and PCmag rated both of them the same.
We also took a look at which sources had the best things to say about them. We learned that the Apple iPhone XR got reviewed the highest by Expert Reviews - it gave it a rating of 10, while the Moto Z4 (2019) most impressed reviewers at PhoneArena, which gave it a score of 9.
Lastly, we averaged out all of their review ratings and observed that the Apple iPhone XR, with its 8.7 average, performed considerably better than most Smartphones - the mean score for the product category being 7.5 out of 10 - while the Moto Z4 (2019) managed an average of 7.2.
There's one caveat here - it might not be entirely justifiable to do a direct Apple iPhone XR vs. Moto Z4 (2019) review average comparison since they aren't priced the same and more expensive products tend to get higher review scores from some sources.
