Turtle Beach Ear Force X12 (2011) vs RIG 500 Pro HX
Turtle Beach Ear Force X12
The Turtle Beach Ear Force X12 is a relatively good Gaming Headset for people that are willing to spend around $130. The RIG 500 Pro HX, by contrast, is quite unremarkable and doesn't stand out in any meaningful way from other products at this price point.
In both cases, however, we recommend that you take look at some other options at the $130 and $30 budget ranges; in all likelihood you'll find some better alternatives.
If you're still interested in learning more about the Turtle Beach Ear Force X12 and RIG 500 Pro HX, however, we wrote a summary of what we know about them:
The Turtle Beach Ear Force X12 managed to earn a spot in roundups from two sources that are known for their trustworthy review methodology - Head-fi and Tom's Guide - but fell short of making it to the top of their lists.
As for the RIG 500 Pro HX, it was really well-received by reviewers at CNET, a reliable source that's known for conducting its own, high-quality, in-depth testing. It performed great in its "Best PC Gaming Headset for 2023" roundup and was named its "Ranked 1 out of 10", which, on its own, makes it a product that warrants a closer look.
We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these Gaming Headsets, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.
We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the Turtle Beach Ear Force X12 got its highest, 8.4, rating from Head-fi, while the RIG 500 Pro HX earned its best, 7.4, score from SoundGuys.
Lastly, we averaged out all of their review ratings and observed that the Turtle Beach Ear Force X12, with its 7.7 average, performed considerably better than most Gaming Headsets - the mean score for the product category being 7.2 out of 10 - while the RIG 500 Pro HX managed an average of 6.7.
There's one caveat here - it might not be entirely justifiable to do a direct Turtle Beach Ear Force X12 vs. RIG 500 Pro HX review average comparison since they aren't priced the same and more expensive products tend to get higher review scores from some sources.
