While the AKG K240 (2001) wasn't able to make it to the very top of any roundups from sources that perform quality hands-on testing, it still got featured in a large number of them. Head-fi, headphonesaddict.com, SoundGuys, musicradar.com, and guitarworld.com have all deemed it worthy of a place on their respective shortlists.
Taking a look at the NAD VISO HP70, we found that it hasn't managed to perform well enough to earn a spot in any Open-Back Headphone roundups done by sources that conduct their own, high-quality, hands-on testing. That alone makes it difficult to recommend.
We tried doing a direct AKG K240 (2001) vs. NAD VISO HP70 review score comparison but couldn't find any sources that tested both.
Next, we took a look at which sources liked them best and found that the AKG K240 (2001) most impressed the reviewers at Head-fi, who gave it a score of 9.3, whereas the NAD VISO HP70 did best in its musicphotolife.com review - it scored 10 points.
Lastly, we compared their review averages and found that the AKG K240 (2001) did much better than the majority of its competitors, with an average review score of 7.9 out of 10, compared to the 7.8 overall average of Open-Back Headphones in general, whereas the NAD VISO HP70 hasn't managed to perform quite as well, with an average rating of 10.0.
