Netgear CM1000 vs Netgear C3000

The Netgear CM1000 was loved by reviewers at dongknows.com, a highly trusted source that performs reliable in-depth testing. It did great in its "Top 5 Best Cable Modems (Approved and Tested with Comcast Xfinity)" roundup where it was named its "Ranked 2 out of 5", which, in itself, makes it a product worth considering.

As for the Netgear C3000 - PCmag, a source that conducts reliable hands-on testing, has featured it in its Netgear C3000 WiFi Cable Modem Router Review roundup. However, it didn't make it to any of the top spots.

We couldn't find any sources that tested both of these Cable Modems, so we only analyzed how they performed in reviews from different sites.

We first examined which sources rated each of these best and found that the Netgear CM1000 got its highest, 9, rating from approvedmodems.org, while the Netgear C3000 earned its best, 9, score from PCmag.

Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Cable Modems on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Cable Modems being 7.2 out of 10, whereas the Netgear CM1000 and Netgear C3000 managed averages of 8.7 and 7.5 points, respectively.

Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Netgear CM1000 vs. Netgear C3000 comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
