The Netgear Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR500 managed to impress reviewers from two reliable and unbiased sources that conduct their own hands-on testing, namely techadvisor.com and Expert Reviews. It performed great in their roundups - it earned the "Best For Gamers" title from techadvisor.com and "Best for gamers on a budget" from Expert Reviews, which makes it a product worthy of consideration.
As for our analysis of the TP-Link Archer C9 - it has done great in a number of roundups done by unbiased sources that conduct their own testing, like realgear.net, nerdtechy.com, and MakeUseOf - it was named "Ranked 2 out of 4" by realgear.net, "Ranked 3 out of 4" by nerdtechy.com, and "Ranked 1 out of 15" by MakeUseOf.
We conducted an analysis of all of the review data that we could find on these two products. First, we focused on sources that tested and rated both of them, like Expert Reviews and TrustedReviews, and learned that they all showed a preference for the TP-Link Archer C9.
Then we took a look at the highest review scores that these two Wi-Fi Extenders received. We found that the Netgear Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR500 managed to earn a rating of 10 from T3, whereas the TP-Link Archer C9 got its highest, 10, score from reviewers at Expert Reviews.
Lastly, we averaged out all of the reviews scores that we could find on these two products and compared them to other Wi-Fi Extenders on the market. We learned that both of them performed far better than most of their competitors - the overall review average earned by Wi-Fi Extenders being 7.1 out of 10, whereas the Netgear Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR500 and TP-Link Archer C9 managed averages of 8.0 and 9.5 points, respectively.
Due to the difference in their prices, however, it's important to keep in mind that a direct Netgear Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR500 vs. TP-Link Archer C9 comparison might not be entirely fair - some sources don't take value for money into account when assigning their scores and therefore have a tendency to rate more premium products better.
