Apple iPhone XS/XS Max (2018) vs Nokia 3.1 (2018/2019)

Analysis:

The Apple iPhone XS is a relatively good Smartphone for people that are willing to spend around $850. The Nokia 3.1 Plus (2018), by contrast, is quite unremarkable and doesn't stand out in any meaningful way from other products at this price point.

In both cases, however, we recommend that you take look at some other options at the $850 and $160 budget ranges; in all likelihood you'll find some better alternatives.

If you're still interested in learning more about the Apple iPhone XS and Nokia 3.1 Plus (2018), however, we wrote a summary of what we know about them:

The Apple iPhone XS managed to impress reviewers from two reliable and unbiased sources that conduct their own hands-on testing, namely CNET, Techradar, Digital Camera World, and Expert Reviews. It performed great in their roundups - it earned the "Best all-around iPhone camera" title from CNET and "The best new iPhone for smaller hands" from Techradar, which makes it a product worthy of consideration.

As for the Nokia 3.1 Plus (2018) analysis - it impressed reviewers at Android Central, a source that's known for its objective testing and well-thought-out methodology - it performed great in its "Best Android Phones Under $200 in 2020" roundup and earned the "Best Industrial Design" title.

When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both Smartphones, including Digitaltrends, Techradar, and PCmag, preferred the Apple iPhone XS over the Nokia 3.1 Plus (2018).

We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The Apple iPhone XS was liked best by camerajabber.com, which gave it a score of 10, while the Nokia 3.1 Plus (2018) got its highest, 8, score from Android Central.

Lastly, we averaged out all of their review ratings and observed that the Apple iPhone XS, with its 8.9 average, performed considerably better than most Smartphones - the mean score for the product category being 7.5 out of 10 - while the Nokia 3.1 Plus (2018) managed an average of 6.6.

There's one caveat here - it might not be entirely justifiable to do a direct Apple iPhone XS vs. Nokia 3.1 Plus (2018) review average comparison since they aren't priced the same and more expensive products tend to get higher review scores from some sources.
