ASUS ROG Phone II (2019) vs Nokia 3.1 (2018/2019)

Analysis:

The ASUS ROG Phone II (2019) is a great Smartphone for its $1999 asking price.

The Nokia 3.1 Plus (2018), on the other hand, is not worth its $124 price tag and should be avoided by most people. We strongly suggest that you take a look at some better alternatives if you're considering spending around $140 on a Smartphone.

While the ASUS ROG Phone II (2019) wasn't able to make it to the very top of any roundups from sources that perform quality hands-on testing, it still got featured in a large number of them. Android Central, Tech Advisor, Techradar, TrustedReviews, GSMArena, Notebookcheck.net, PhoneArena, Digital Camera World, The Verge, DXOMARK, Android Authority, Windows Central, Tom's Guide, and Wirecutter (NYTimes) have all deemed it worthy of a place on their respective shortlists.

As for the Nokia 3.1 Plus (2018) - it impressed reviewers at Android Central, a trustworthy source that conducts solid hands-on testing. It did great in its "Best Android Phones Under $200 in 2020" roundup - in fact, it earned its "Best Industrial Design" title, which, on its own, indicates a certain level of quality.

When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both Smartphones, including Techradar, Android Central, and Digitaltrends, preferred the ASUS ROG Phone II (2019) over the Nokia 3.1 Plus (2018).

We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The ASUS ROG Phone II (2019) was liked best by Techradar, which gave it a score of 9, while the Nokia 3.1 Plus (2018) got its highest, 8, score from Android Central.

Finally, we compared them to other Smartphones on the market and found that the two of them got reviewed similarly to the majority of their competitors. The overall average review score for Smartphones in general is 7.5 out of 10, whereas the ASUS ROG Phone II (2019) and Nokia 3.1 Plus (2018) managed averages of 7.3 and 6.6 points, respectively.

It should be noted that it might not be entirely fair to do a direct ASUS ROG Phone II (2019) vs. Nokia 3.1 Plus (2018) comparison due to the difference in their pricing; some sources have a tendency to review more premium products better than more affordable ones.
