Huawei Mate 20 (2018) vs Nokia 3.1 (2018/2019)

Analysis:

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro (2018) makes for a good, if unremarkable, Smartphone for people with a $560 budget.

The Nokia 3.1 (2018), however, is merely mediocre at its $99 asking price, when compared to similarly priced products, and won't satisfy the needs of most people.

In either case, we suggest that you first take a look at some other options at the $560 and $150 price points before committing to one of these - it's likely that you'll be able to find some better alternatives.

If you're still interested in learning more about the Huawei Mate 20 Pro (2018) and Nokia 3.1 (2018), however, we wrote a summary of what we could find about them:

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro (2018) has managed to impress reviewers from two reliable and objective sources that conduct their own testing, namely Android Central, Android Authority, Tech Advisor, Techradar, and TrustedReviews. It did great in their roundups - it earned the "Best Outside the U.S." title from Android Central, and "Best big Chinese phone" from Android Authority, which marks it as a product that's worth considering.

Moving on to the Nokia 3.1 (2018): it was unable to reach the very top of any roundups from sources that conduct reliable and unbiased testing. Nonetheless, it still managed to impress reviewers from a number of such sites, like Android Central, Expert Reviews, slashgear.com, Techradar, GSMArena, and Wirecutter (NYTimes), enough for them to include them on those lists.

When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both Smartphones, including Expert Reviews, GSMArena, Android Central, Digitaltrends, Techradar, and slashgear.com, preferred the Huawei Mate 20 Pro (2018) over the Nokia 3.1 (2018).

We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro (2018) was liked best by Expert Reviews, which gave it a score of 10, while the Nokia 3.1 (2018) got its highest, 7, score from Android Central.

Lastly, in order to better compare them to their competition, we averaged out their review scores and found that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro (2018) got received considerably better than the majority of other Smartphones - it earned an average of 9.0 out of 10 points, compared to the 7.5 overall rating of other Smartphones - while the Nokia 3.1 (2018) performed worse than most of its competitors, with its average review score of 5.7.

It's worth keeping in mind, however, that a direct Huawei Mate 20 Pro (2018) vs. Nokia 3.1 (2018) comparison might not be realistic since they're priced differently and some sources have a tendency to review more expensive products better than cheaper ones.
