Samsung Galaxy Fold (2019) vs Nokia 3.1 (2018/2019)

Analysis:

The Samsung Galaxy Fold (2019) makes for a good, if unremarkable, Smartphone for people with a $1,300 budget.

The Nokia 3.1 (2018), however, is merely mediocre at its $219 asking price, when compared to similarly priced products, and won't satisfy the needs of most people.

In either case, we suggest that you first take a look at some other options at the $1,300 and $280 price points before committing to one of these - it's likely that you'll be able to find some better alternatives.

If you're still interested in learning more about the Samsung Galaxy Fold (2019) and Nokia 3.1 (2018), however, we wrote a summary of what we could find about them:

While the Samsung Galaxy Fold (2019) wasn't able to make it to the very top of any roundups from sources that perform quality hands-on testing, it still got featured in a large number of them. Android Central, Notebookcheck.net, Android Authority, CNET, Techradar, PCmag, TrustedReviews, Tom's Guide, The Verge, Tech Advisor, and GSMArena have all deemed it worthy of a place on their respective shortlists.

Moving on to the Nokia 3.1 (2018): it was unable to reach the very top of any roundups from sources that conduct reliable and unbiased testing. Nonetheless, it still managed to impress reviewers from a number of such sites, like Android Central, slashgear.com, Expert Reviews, Techradar, GSMArena, and Wirecutter (NYTimes), enough for them to include them on those lists.

When we thoroughly analyzed their review scores, we learned that all of the sources that tested both Smartphones, including Android Central, Lifewire, Techradar, and Digitaltrends, preferred the Samsung Galaxy Fold (2019) over the Nokia 3.1 (2018).

We also took a look at which sources they managed to impress the most. The Samsung Galaxy Fold (2019) was liked best by Android Central, which gave it a score of 9, while the Nokia 3.1 (2018) got its highest, 7, score from Android Central.

Finally, we compared them to other Smartphones on the market and found that they, on average, performed worse their competitors in reviews. The overall average rating received by Smartphones is 7.5, compared to the 6.5 and 5.7 review scores earned by the Samsung Galaxy Fold (2019) and Nokia 3.1 (2018), respectively.

It's worth keeping in mind that doing such a direct Samsung Galaxy Fold (2019) vs. Nokia 3.1 (2018) comparison isn't necessarily realistic, because these two products aren't priced the same and some sources don't take value for money into account when determining their final scores, which often leads to cheaper products being rated worse than more expensive ones.
